CATEGORY D – Chemicals

a)

Sulphuric acid (H2SO4)

Sulphuric Acid is used to manufacture dyes, glue, wood preservatives, and automobile batteries

b)

Hrdrogen peroxide (H2O2)

Hydrogen peroxide is the bleaching agent of choice for the treatment of natural and synthetic fibers such as cotton, wool, rayon, silk, linen and viscose.

c)

Methanol (CH3OH)

Methanol a is dyeing medium for dyeing of cotton fabric with reactive and direct dyes without using salt, soda or any other auxiliary chemicals

d)

Calcium carbonate (CaCO3)

DYE ASSIST or MODIFIER in natural dyeing. Chalk can help to boost the colour uptake on certain dyes, including Madder, Munjeet and Weld, enabling more pigment to bond with the fibres by creating less acidic conditions.

e)

Sulphur dioxide (SO2)

Sulfur dyes are mainly used for the dyeing of textile cellulosic materials, or blends of cellulosic fibers with synthetic fibers such as acrylic fibers, polyamide and polyester. They can also be used for a limited number of silk and paper applications.

f)

Sodium Chloride (NaCl)

Salts play the role of glue holding the dye molecules in the cloth, and a certain percentage of dyestuff fixed with textiles is added to the alkali. Because of this, salt is used as an exhausting agent in the textile dyeing process with various colorants.
